In the Philippines, fuel prices have seen mixed adjustments, with notable increases in gasoline costs while diesel and kerosene prices have eased. Major fuel retailers such as Shell, Seaoil, PetroGazz, and Jetti Petroleum have raised gasoline prices by ₱3.50 per litre as of Tuesday. This increase comes after a recent decrease of ₱0.30 per litre last week.
In contrast, the price of diesel has been reduced by ₱1 per litre. Additionally, Shell and Seaoil have cut kerosene prices by ₱1.90 per litre, offering some financial relief to households and consumers who depend on these fuels.
These contrasting price movements are expected to impact consumers differently based on their fuel consumption patterns and transportation needs. Motorists relying on gasoline will experience higher costs, while those using diesel and kerosene may benefit from the current reductions.
The adjustments follow last week’s price trends, where gasoline saw a minimal decrease, and diesel and kerosene prices increased by ₱1.20 and ₱0.50 per litre, respectively. The ongoing fluctuations highlight the dynamic nature of fuel pricing in the region, influenced by various market factors.
