This marks the highest-ever draft selection for a player from Purvis, bringing immense pride to the Mississippi community.
The 18-year-old Parker, standing at 6-foot-2, has been a standout figure throughout his high school career, culminating in a senior season that captured national attention. His exceptional talent and dedication have now propelled him into the professional ranks, setting a new benchmark for aspiring athletes from his school.
Parker’s offensive statistics during his final high school year were truly remarkable. He batted an astounding .489, demonstrating his consistent ability to hit for average and get on base. He also showcased significant power with 13 home runs and drove in 35 RBIs, while his speed was a major asset with 64 runs scored and 30 stolen bases.
Beyond his offensive and baserunning skills, Parker also proved his versatility as a right-handed pitcher.
