In a significant appointment, Heng Swee Keat, Singapore’s former Deputy Prime Minister, will assume the role of the first chancellor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) starting June 1, 2026. His tenure, set to span five years, will see him engage as the premier ceremonial figurehead and representative of the institution until May 31, 2031.
